Will begin the sixth year of the unique Eta Sigma Gamma Model.

TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Eta Sigma Gamma (National Health/Science Honorary)
Gamma Rho Chapter
An MCQC Partnership

Recent Change:

This section of the MCQC website was formerly devoted to the “Student Ombudsman Model” of Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.   The program was recently terminated, under protest, by a letter from the Regional Ombudsman Coordinator of Region Five.  However, members of MCQC will continue to partner with the student group who are all members of Eta Sigma Gamma.  MCQC members recognize the potential in these young people who will ultimately serve their communities in the field of health.  Those who served in the ombudsman program have acquired a concern and respect for the elderly that will serve them well in their chosen fields of endeavor.  The continued partnership will reflect the principles of Eta Sigma Gamma i.e., research, education and service, by providing opportunities for research, awarding scholarships and grants, recognizing individual achievement and participating in future  projects undertaken by the students.   Many former student “partners” have already entered the health field in some capacity.  Others are currently enrolled in post graduate studies leading to careers as physicians etc.  MCQC members are proud to have been a factor in the collegiate and personal lives of these outstanding young people and will continue in that vein.
