You can use this site to gather information about States, Counties and individual nursing homes. Site is a good resource if looking for information concerning nursing homes in your State and/or county.

    World Elder Abuse Awareness Day – June 15
    Although elder abuse was first recognized in the U.S. in the late 1970's, it remains in the shadows of the public consciousness. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is an opportunity to focus much needed international attention on the problem. Every community that participates will intensify the message that "our elders deserve better."

An example is finding a food pantry in your area. If you have a child with a learning impairment they assist you in finding help. You lose power during a heat wave or need temporary shelter. A frightened spouse seeks a safe haven. You need counseling for a troubled teenager. Day care information. A senior adult wants to volunteer or seek services. You are looking for employment or a way out of debt. All you need to call is 2-1-1.

  • www.grannynet.co.uk: Granny Net is a website for grandparents, offering useful tips and support for grandparents. The site is for Great Britain but the information is useful for grandparents everywhere.

The listing will also show you the governments rating of the nursing home. It is based on a 5 star rating, with 1 star being poor and 5 stars being outstanding.

Resources included in this directory have been contacted for accuracy; however, the Senior Network does not accept responsibility for errors, omissions, or quality of services provided by the agencies, organizations, or businesses listed in this directory.

We also compile a National Watch List of homes recently cited for violations or that have had substantiated complaints made against them.   • Advocates for Seniors - www.advocatesforseniors.org The website of the Vivian J. Roller Family Endowment which is part of MCQC. Grants awarded from the Endowment are administered through MCQC for eldercare related education and outreach projects.
  • Alzheimer's Association - www.alz.com The National Alzheimer's Association website has information on the disease, Quality Care Initiatives and links to all the Chapters in the USA.
  • Area Agency on Aging - www.moaging.com The role of the Area Agency on Aging is to plan, coordinate and advocate for the development of a comprehensive service delivery system to meet short and long-term needs of older persons within the service area. This site will provide services available for older adults.
  • Assisted Living Directory - www.assisted-living-directory.com:  This site will help you locate an assisted living facility in every State in the US. A brief description of the facility is included and contact information.
  • www.assistedlivingconsumers.org - Assisted Living Consumers Association (ALCA). This not for profit organization provides news and information for both consumers and professionals, including consumer advice and summaries of each state's assisted living rules.
  • Care Homes Guide - www.carehomesguide.com: This is a website from Great Britain. It is a definitive easy to use guide solely aimed at care homes throughout the United Kingdom. It provides information on residential, nursing or retirement homes in the United Kingdom. This will give you a look into what care for senior citizens is like in Great Britain.
  • Care Pathways - www.carepathways.com - Created and maintained by RNs dedicated to providing seniors and their families access to quality information and creditable services. On-line access to extensive care facilities database and personal care, mobility, safety, and comfort products.
  • Division of Health and Senior Services - www.dhss.mo.gov This site has information concerning the Division of Health and Senior Services in Missouri. It includes information on senior issues, services available to senior citizens, pending legislation concerning seniors, listing of the Area Agencies on Aging offices, birth, death and divorce information and other information that will assist senior citizens in Missouri.

  • Elder Justice Coalition - www.elderjusticecoalition.com This is an organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of the tragedy or of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation. This is a national organization that actively works for the care of the elderly. Please check their website for more information.
  • Federal Eldercare Information - www.eldercare.gov This is a federal government website that will assist you in finding services in your area. It also provides information on eldercare services, issues and tips on what to look for when considering elder care services.
  • Health Finder - www.healthfinder.gov. This website provides information on health services throughout the USA. They have periodic news and health updates.
  • Independant Living Centers - www.mosilc.org/CIL.htm www.mosilc.org./CIL.htm This website site lists information on all Independant Living Centers or organizations working with Independant Living Centers within the USA. Simply click on the State you are interested in and it will list those centers/organizations in that State.

  • International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse - www.inpea.com This website is the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. They sponsor the World Elder Abuse Day. Site provides information on issues concerning elder abuse and organizations dedicated to preventing elder abuse throughout the world. 
  • Kentucky Nursing Homes - www.KyNursingHomeRorm.org: This site concerns the nursing home issues in the State of Kentucky. Site offers information concerning nursing homes in Kentucky, helpful information and articles concerning nursing homes.
  • Medicare - www.medicare.gov: This is the Federal website on the medicare program.
    It contains information concerning Part D of medicare. They do have a
    toll free number 1-800-633-4227.

  • www.midwestspecialneedstrust.org - Midwest Special Needs Trust. This website will give you information to family members on how to establish a trust that does not jeopardize SSI, Medicaid or other benefits and are not subject to Medicaid payback requirements.

  • Missouri Veteran's Administration - www.mvc.state.mo.us: This website concerns the Veteran's Administration in Missouri. The site lists the VA offices throughout the State and how to contact them. It also contains information on programs available to veterans. You may call toll free at 1-866-838-4636.
  • Missouri Veteran's Administration (Nursing Home Facilities) - www.mvc.dps.mo.gov This website provides information for Veterans in need of nursing care. There are 7 VA nursing facilities in Missouri with 1,350 beds. The website provides more information on the nursing homes. You may also call 1-573-751-3779 for information.
  • http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/C100-199/1730000091.HTM - The link above provides information on how those 65 and older, and are a Missouri resident shall be awarded a scholarship to a state educational institution.  This would allow a Missouri resident who is 65 and older to attend a college course for as little as 25 dollars.
