    In the December 19, 2008 USA Today, they listed the top 10 States with the highest percentage of 5 Star nursing homes (based on the new Federal Rating System for nursing homes).
     

  • Elder Abuse and Neglect Hotline Calls  Updated on 1/17/2007 -

    The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is required by law to maintain an Elder Abuse and Neglect "Hotline" (1-800-392-0210) which can be used by any member of the general public. Anyone who has witnessed or suspects the abuse or neglect of an elderly or disabled individual is asked to report the incident to the State by using the hotline number.     Aging and Disability Network Update: Governor's Advisory Council on Aging

    Exciting news for Missourians interested in senior issues! Governor Blunt has signed an executive order reorganizing the Governor's Council on Aging, and is now accepting applications from those interested in being considered for the council.

    If you are interested in being considered, please complete the online application and mail or fax it and a current resume to the address below. Full consideration will be given to all applications received by December 20th.

  • 09-17-2007 - Blunt Announces Renewed Council on Aging to Better Assist Missouri Seniors

    LAKE OZARK – During a keynote address at the Fourth Annual Show-Me Summit on Aging and Health Gov. Matt Blunt issued an executive order that will renew the mission of the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging to improve services for Missouri 's aging population.

  • “Missourians can be proud of the efforts we are making to secure a better life for Missourians at every stage of their lives,” Blunt said. “We are making our state a better place for seniors to ensure that their retirement years are enjoyable and secure.” Read more here
