MCQC APPOINTS AMY
COFFMAN AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
MCQC has appointed Amy Coffman as Executive Director. Ms. Coffman began her duties on December 1, 2008. Ms. Coffman comes to Missouri Coalition for Quality Care after spending the last decade working in public policy. While Amy is a native Missourian, she moved to Alaska in 1995 to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics. In 1998 she was asked to manage an Alaska State House race and then began a seven year stint working in the Alaska State Legislature. From 2003 until 2005, she served as the Chief of Staff for the House Minority Leader, where she focused her work on staff organization, public policy and political strategy. Amy returned to Missouri in May of 2005 and began working for AARP Missouri as the Program Coordinator for Advocacy. During her time with AARP, she had the opportunity to work across party lines to promote the policies which would allow Missourians the ability to age with independence and dignity. She became especially involved with issues of Long Term Care and assisted in passing legislation that would require Assisted Living Facilities to meet requirements that would allow a home-like setting for residents before being granted a license to operate as an “Assisted Living Facility”. Currently, Amy owns a small business which promotes physical fitness for preschoolers. She lives in Kansas City, MO with her husband, Jay Hardenbrook and their three dogs, Oscar, Ester, and Amelia. MCQC welcomes Ms. Coffman to our organization.
